Dev Log #006 — Why Vehicles Matter
One question keeps coming up while planning Firetorn:
Why should vehicles exist?
Many games include vehicles simply as collectibles. While collecting rare vehicles can certainly be fun, I want them to have a practical purpose as well.
Current ideas include travel benefits, prestige, collection systems, future racing features, and various forms of progression tied to ownership.
At launch, the vehicle system will likely be fairly straightforward, but it has enormous potential for future expansion.
One thing is certain: players won't be limited to a handful of generic cars.
Firetorn's long-term vision includes hundreds of vehicles ranging from inexpensive daily drivers to exotic supercars and collector vehicles.
