Dev Log #009 — Designing The Crime System

Firetorn is a crime RPG, which means the crime system needs to be one of the strongest parts of the game.

Over the past week I have been exploring different approaches to criminal activities and progression.

Simply clicking a button and receiving money is not enough. Players need meaningful choices, risk, and rewards.

The current idea is to create crime categories that gradually unlock as players progress through the game.

Lower-level crimes will offer safer but smaller rewards, while advanced criminal activities will carry greater risk and larger payouts.

Balancing risk versus reward will be one of the most important challenges moving forward.

The goal is to make every crime feel like a decision rather than a routine task.
